Vista Srv/Clnt lock up windows explorer

I have installed the server on my local machine running Vista Enterprise x64, and the client on a different LAN running Vista Enterprise x86.
 
When the client connects to the USB device (2gb flash drive), our windows explorer browser locks up and displays ( Not Responding ) in the title bar.
 
We have also tried the client on a Server 2008 x64 VM, with the same results.
 
What gives?

Hi Mark,
 
Let's find out whether this problem is connected with our software or with your network. As far as I understand you have two different LANs. Could you please try to reproduse your issue in one LAN (or using one machine only)?
