Server (unreachable)

I'm using USB over network to connect a USB device connected to my laptop to a virtual machine running on the same laptop. Both machines run Vista and the connection worked just fine for a long time. Recently, I started struggling with it. Just installed the latest version and now the client cannot see the server at all. I have enabled both programs through the firewall - just in case. Still the same problem. What are the steps to troubleshoot this? What could it be?

Hi Joerg,

Try to install "USB over Network Client" additionally to the same PC where USB over Network is installed. Does it work on the same PC?

I did install the client on the same OS where server runs. I got the same error initially, but then the client picked it up. When I tried from the virtual PC, same thing. It works now, even though I don't fully understand what actually happened. Thanks for your help!

Highly strange Smiley
Even don't know what has been changed.
Have you removed server record in Client GUI and added it again? May be wrong IP address has been added last time?
In any case, it's working now!
Thanks!

Just want to add that I currently have this same problem.

Recently moved to 3.3.10 as the server changed to x64 and this version dosen't seem anywhere near as stable as 3.3.8.

Hi,

What OS are installed on both computers?
And have you tried to install Client on the same PC where the Server is installed and try to connect locally.

Thanks!

I am having this problem too :(

The client is on WinXPx64 (cannot change)

The server has been tried from WinXPx32 and WinServer2003.

It works for me on x32 to x32 configurations no problem.

Are there any known issues with x64?

Please confirm that the same versions of the software are on both sides. It seems that client and server versions don't match.
